Above is a representation of the parking spaces per block between the BJCC and First Ave North. This was taken from the City Center Master Plan Update (Transportation Component), 1990. Note that the zero at 16th street and 5th Ave. North is Kelly Ingram Park and the “1701″ to the right of it is a parking deck. The “1500″ to the north of it (at 7th avenue and 17th street) is the Alabama Power parking deck. The grand total: 21,450 parking spaces – and remember, this only represents everything north of First Ave. as of 1990.
